Welcome to A-A Auto Part's Web Page. Since 1982, A-A Auto Parts has been committed to supplying the people of the Tug Valley with all their automotive needs. Located in the heart of the West Virginia coal fields, we sell only quality automotive parts to retail and commercial customers. We are proud to be a family owned automotive parts store and currently have three locations in Gilbert, Edgarton, and Matewan West Virginia. Along with selling auto parts we also carry a full line of automotive paints and collision repair products. A-A Tire & Parts, Inc. is the legal name of our company, with A-A Auto Parts being our primarily used D.B.A. A-A Tire & Parts, Inc. is a closely held family S-Corporation with it's officers being:
A-A Tire & Parts was originally formed in 1982 as a proprietorship and was incorporated in 1990 as a S-Corporation. Currently, A-A Auto Parts have locations in:
A-A Auto Parts history began in the 1965 with the opening of Blankenship's Department Store in Edgarton, West Virginia. Blankenship's Dept. Store was founded by one of A-A Auto Parts current stockholders (my father, Anthony C. Blankenship Jr.) and was a general merchandise store selling mostly clothing during it's beginnings. In 1977, shortly after the devastating Tug River Flood, my father acquired Delorme Gulf Station from his mother, which was started in 1949. At this point Blankenship's Dept. Store began to diversify into other products that complimented the service station such as tires, oils, chemical, and a limited amount of automotive parts. In 1982 construction started on the A-A Tire & Parts' first location in Edgarton and was opened for business in October 1982. Originally, our store had four garage bays with most of our sales coming from tires and mechanical labor, but the auto parts sale grew rapidly. Then in 1983 we became a franchise Parts Plus auto parts distributor at our Edgarton location and expanded into the automotive paint business at this location in 1985. In 1986 we opened our second location in Gilbert, West Virginia. This location was open strictly as a Parts Plus associate auto parts store with no service bays. With auto parts sale's rapid growth at our Edgarton store, in 1988 we moved our service bays across the street and tripled the amount of square footage for auto parts sales at original location. In 1995 Parts Plus was acquired by Big A Auto Parts and A-A Auto Parts was forced to change their franchise affiliation to Big A. This move proved to be short lived as Big A Auto Parts went into bankruptcy. Do to Big A's situation, we made the choice in April 1997 to joint the family of Auto Value associate parts stores. Immediately following this move to Auto Value, we opened our third location in August 1997 in the historic town of Matewan, West Virginia. Also in 1997, A-A Auto Parts expanded our paint and body supply business by becoming a distributor of automotive collision repair panels. Today A-A Auto Parts is proud to be serving the people of southern West Virginia and eastern Kentucky with their automotive needs. Now, online sales of auto parts and body shop supplies will be the challenge of A-A Auto Parts for the Twenty First Century.
